The "RR" is a twin, and is much more of a direct competitor to the Ninja 300 and the R3. The current CBR300R isn't up to the task.

Nah, your absolutely right, it's just a stroked version of the CBR250R single that came out in 2011. Fairly old tech and only 286cc, not even the full 300.
I can get 100MPH out of mine on a good day as I have a really good PTW ratio. I stripped 30lbs of crap off the bike and I only weigh 130 myself.
