The gas light is an independent circuit and isn't part of EFI system (so no errors codes or diagnostics of any kind). When gas light goes on, this is triggered by low fuel. If gas light goes on even with full tank, you may have problem with reserve-switch or fuel-pump inside tank.

What did you use to clean fuel-pump?
Did you test its flow-rate before and after cleaning? Was there difference?
Test fuel-pump flow and determine flow-volume for 3-seconds.
