I get that for sure. Since I'm in Maine and my bikes sit all winter (maybe 5 months), I like to do all of the major maintenance then. I work construction as well so I have much more down time in the winter to get these things done. I just got the bike and it is 5 years old I am betting that the fork oil has never been changed so I'm thinking just do what I can to quickly get some fresh oil in there for the season and this winter I'll take the forks off completely and clean them properly.

Jim, are you familiar with Bruce's Suspension in Salisbury NC? He worked over the damper rods for my dirtbike forks and was thinking about asking him to check out my Ninja 300 damper rods. His damper rods in my dirtbike work much better than the gold valve emulators and I'm betting he could work his magic on these forks as well. If he was willing...
