I've had luck with laying the bike over so the engine's closer to the sensor-loop. Your success will vary depending upon how the thing's set up and programmed. There was a new light installed down in Santa Barbara near my house that was actually sensitive to bicycles! Light always changed within 5-10 seconds after I pulled into left-turn lane on my bicycle!
