To survive the wind flipping canopy upside-down & inside-out, design will need to change to larger diameter round tubing made from chromoly or titanium. Plastic joints will need to be replaced with metal. Even then, I still think wind will be able to break it. I've had my el-cheapo Costco canopy for 2-seasons now and the tubing's bent and I've replaced many rivets at plastic joints with bolts. The fabric's starting to have some holes from repeated stretching and packing. Haven't found anything with significantly better design or materials yet though. I'm eyeing some kevlar sails I've got in storage, those may work better as covering material...
