You could drain a bit out, but if it's pretty close you should be fine. Chances are you will lose a little over time.

Most likely the bike was not completely level either on the stand or off. If you have level ground the center stand it the easiest way to get a good look at the sight-glass.

T6 is a good choice for the Ninja IMO.
