The wonderfully predictable weather in Jerez was a welcome sight for the lightweight class and their final practice session saw significant improvements in lap times across the board. Although the spotlight was firmly on the Aspar duo of Izan Guevara and Sergio Garcia throughout FP3, with Garcia eager to catch up after a tricky Friday surrounded by gravel and Guevara keen to one up his teammate, the final couple of minutes brought a surprise challenger in Diogo Moreira, the impressive rookie edging ahead by two hundredths of a second at the chequered flag.
