In conditions like we had at ACC this weekend with the run off areas soaking wet even looking at the front brake lever would cause it to lock up and most likely crash. A steering damper would not stop that from happening.
Sucks about the thumb it looked like it hurt but you didn't let it slow you down!
Next time your around I would take up Bruce on his offer to help, He knows those chassis pretty well and has helped me.
