Question about using an R6 throttle tube:

If you look at this picture, the channel in the tube that the cable passes through is only 1/8" or so long.

The pictures of the part from a Yamaha R6 I can find, however, show a much longer channel.

Can anyone who's used one of those comment on the need to trim that channel down so that the cable isn't partially pulled when the grip is in the idle position? That looks like it would use up pretty much all of the adjustability that's built into the stock linkage.
