That reminds me of a repair I made to a cast iron alternator bracket on an old 4x4 that snapped landing a jump. Notched it out, cleaned it up, and filled the area with braze.
Next time I did the same thing the bolt broke.

My grandfather brazed the waterjacket on the inside of a tractor crank case... I said no way will it last.... he proved me wrong lol
