I am as tall and heavy as you and can go 200 miles, at sustained ~75 mph, from full tank to start of reserve in my naked pre-gen 2007: that is 55 miles per gallon.

Consider a valves' adjustment and, if the problem persists after that, a compression and a leak down test.
