I ran the Michelin pilot Road 3's http://www.bikebandit.com/michelin-p...otorcycle-tire last winter and they where about as good as you can expect in the rain. Just understand even the best rain tires require you to ride predictably and smooth, so stay alert and leave yourself plenty of following distance.
17-150/70 rear works with modded chain guard and the axle may have to be toward the rear half of adjustment.

17-110/70 front

If your worries about the rear tire clearance then have a 42t or 43t rear sprocket handy just encase you need to scoot the rear wheel back a little. The taller gearing will be nice for keeping your rmps lower at speed and don't worry a 42t is not to tall because I run the equivalent to a 39t and still think I'll go another tooth taller next time.

Oh and even with my aggressive canyon riding, and mind you I can go fast if a want to, the rear tire made it 6,500 miles and the front still had good life left.
