So I've removed my apparently wrongly installed bearing races and trying to install the correct ones and they do not seem to fit at all at least not according to the instructions from

The bottom brace is so loose as to fall straight out and the top doesn't want to go in with any amount of hammer persuasion. It really seems like their supposed to be swapped.
Something must be wrong right?
