This seems to be a too common occurs nice on mtb trails as well. Typically mountain bikes will build and maintain trail systems but the hikers who share the trails fee they own the trails. Every so often you'll get but bag hikers who set bicycle booby traps out on the trails. Mostly things like broken glass or tacs but something barbed wire and what not.
