I guess I'm the odd man out here. I started on an 03 r6 (basically the exact same bike minus inverted forks) and did 20k of riding the first year. Never crashed it, dropped it, etc... Keep it under 9k rpm and you're more than fine. I had to stop watching the video at 7:30 due to overhype. lol
Are 600's for everybody? No. Are motorcycles for everybody? No. I wouldn't be opposed to the US having a graduated licensing system. I'm a big fan of common sense and good judgment, which we all know not everyone possesses these days. IMO, it's an individual basis.
