You're right about the rear brake master cylinder mounting (looks like a reservoir). I'd be pleasantly surprised to see the 08+ rearsets fit on the old model. The old model rearsets are different between the left and the right sides (spacing and angle) and the distance the shift rod would have to reach I am sure is different too.
What the heck, somebody can go buy a set for the new model and try to make them work on the old gen. Any takers?
