I did a simple asymmetric stripe design on my Bell R1 helmet and I think it came out decent. Should I decide to remove the vinyl, I have no worries about the paint coming off anymore than I would if I were peeling off an old sticker. Warming it up a bit with a hair dryer makes it easy. Durability-wise, it's done fine over an entire riding season.
