One remedy for such "special weekends", drive the premium tier 5, Matilda IV or Matilda Black Prince; even better platoon up with two other Matilda players, load up with gold ammo, station next to solid objects and defend the ally base.

I saw "less patience" this weekend. Had 2 heavy tanks on my team leave the base, I was in a TD. Heavy 1 bumps in to Heavy 2, 2 pushes back, 1 jams 2 up against a building, then they start cussing at each other in chat, then 2 shoots at 1, 1 shoots back. About that time three enemy come up and engage me. 1 and 2 keep shooting at each other. I get blown away, both of them do too.
