As TJ noted above - that's not the correct heat range most likely. The older (PreGen) Ninjas used CR8s, but not sure about the newer ones. A CR9 is a colder plug, so it's not going to do any damage, but it's not optimum either (unless you are racing maybe).
I don't think that would cause the issue you described in your first post though. I still think you have a battery or connection issue based on the symptoms you described.
The battery readings aren't where they should be with the engine off and the arcing noises aren't normal. I'd plan on replacing the battery before doing anything else.
