Nah...other than setting freeplay at the throttle, 1-2mm insufficient there. Danno, I believe, was referring to the cables at the carbs.
I believe there is a spec in the service manual for actual freeplay measured at the throttle grip...3-5mm? Anybody?
Don't let the grip rub against the switch housing....a very common assembly error in "my throttle is sticking" issues. If need be, pull it back to bar end slightly.
