I know that when I had my FJ1100 GOING to +1/-2 was no big deal, and I could hardly feel the performance difference, but on the 250 I can feel it for sure.

Gearing
When I bought the bike I switched from 14/45 to 15/41 because I did more highway traveling than anything else and wanted gas mileage and lower revs at 70 mph. The 15/41 is fine accelerates well but I find I cannot max out RPM in 6th gear GPS'd at 93 mph. Think the 15/43 might have been best all arounder gearing.
