Not sure about the PO, but I've owned it for 4 years now and always used synthetic.

With all the burping noises from the intake, I can't be sure. I did replace the float valves so that's a good possibility.

Opening the floatbowl drains would tell you if you had fuel to the carb. You also may not be getting adequate vacuum to the petcock because of a vacuum hose problem.

Was the gas fresh? Any rust in the tank?
I didn't hear any air rushing in when I opened it. The float bowls did have fuel in them, and the gas was fresh. Bad gas possibly? And yeah I will check the petcock next as well.

FWIW, during all this, the bike never overheated or anything like that. There's oil in it, and it's not milky or otherwise contaminated.
