Yamaha is showing its support for road racing with its growing bLU cRU contingency program. See the Yamaha press release below for more details.
Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., is proud to announce that its
bLU cRU Road Racing Contingency Program returns for 2016 with several new enhancements, including an increase in the total payout compared with the 2015 Program.
“2015 was a record year for the Yamaha Road Racing Contingency Program,” commented Keith McCarty, Motorsports Racing Division Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. “Adding our
‘bLU cRU’ brand and its many benefits to all of our contingency programs has really helped boost participation across the board. Plus, with the all-new YZF-R1, the YZF-R6, and the all-new YZF-R3 being such popular and highly competitive bikes for road racers throughout the country, contingency earnings have doubled compared with 2014!”
For 2016, Yamaha R1 Superbike riders competing in the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship are eligible for Contingency support when they cross the finish line in the top five of the class, compared with 2015, when support was paid to Yamaha R1 Superbike riders who finished in the top three.
The 2016 MotoAmerica Superbike payout structure is $5,000/$4,000/$3,000/$2,000/$1,000 for R1 Superbike riders, which amounts to an additional $90,000 available to R1 Superbike riders for the full MotoAmerica season (calculations are based on a nine-event, 18-race season).
The 75th running of the Daytona 200 will take place in March 2016, and Yamaha will help celebrate the occasion by adding the iconic race to its 2016
bLU cRU Road Racing Contingency Program. The top-three Daytona 200 finishers, if aboard Yamahas, are eligible for a total of $17,500 in
bLU cRU Contingency support, including the winner of the Daytona 200, who can earn $10,000 in
bLU cRU support if aboard a Yamaha.
“With these latest enhancements to the 2016 program, we’ve got a record number of opportunities for R1, R6, and R3 racers to earn their share of the nearly $720,000 available at 117 events across the country,” commented Mike Guerra, Racing Department Manager for Yamaha. “All
bLU cRU contingency earnings will, once again, be paid directly to the riders’ reloadable
bLU cRU VISA Debit Cards, and each
bLU cRU rider will receive a $45 credit on
http://www.bLUcRUswag.com, where they can purchase
bLU cRU apparel and merchandise, as well as a 10% rebate on ‘Graves Motorsports’ and ‘GYT-R’ parts and accessories.”
