Hey y'all, I ended up not selling the bike. My new bike got ****ing stolen and I'm out of work for a month so I figure, hey, what better time for a project bike fix? Dx

Anyhow, now I'm waffling between buying a whole used engine (and possibly from a 500, my moto-mechanic uncle says it's a fairly un-involved process as far as engine swaps go) and just trying to do the head myself.
Me and said uncle did the head gasket on my car last year (12 hours in the driveway!) so it's a lot less daunting.

But I'm weighing the cost and time efficiencies. With an engine this small, I should probably take the head in to make sure it's not warped, surely?
I can pay $500 for an ebay engine with far fewer miles but also...I'll be out of work for a month or more and I have more time than money right now.
