First steps to dentifying oil-leaks is to completely clean engine. So clean you can eat off it. I find removing engine to be much easier and faster to clean. Results in less time total to find leaks.

Then with completely spotlessly-clean engine, re-install, run it and look for where new oil drips come out. It is often higher up and drips downwards. Often from a gasket area such as valve-cover gasket or side covers. I find adding flourescent dye and shining flourescent black light (not filtered incandescent bulb) really pinpoints source of leaks.

Oil in area you posted would probably be flung off by chain. See this thread: https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=320027

Remember, a clean dry chain is worn chan (and sprockets).
