If so return your wiring to its original configuration (when the compressor worked) because the wiring was probably fine. The first few times I read through this thread I thought you had inline fuse problems.

2) How much power does your USB adapter output?

It should say in tiny print somewhere near the FCC information on the device. I ask because I have an iPhone. I can charge my iPhone through its USB cable by plugging its USB cable into a portable USB adapter installed in a cigarette socket, but that only works with certain USB adapters. The reason is many portable adapters only output .5 Amps, but the iPhone demands a solid 1 Amp. Some portable USB adapters claim they output 1 Amp but they don't do it well enough to power my iPhone so it still wont charge. It sounds like your USB adapter is just too small for the devices your using.

3) Have you tried the USB adapter in another vehicle yet?

If not please try it and let us know if it works.
