Hearing loss

Ok I'm deaf
I lost my the hearing in my right ear when I was fourteen years old. I just woke up one morning and it felt like I had cotton in my ear. I went to a doctor and then later to a hearing aid place. The hearing aid worked but when I began riding bicycle and motorcycles full time in my twentys it got sweaty and was annoying in a helmet. Besides my left ear worked fine.

Then last month I woke up and had a loss of hearing in my left ear. I would say forty percent left side sixty percent right ear plus tinnitus. A constant ringing that I guess is from tools banging and motorcycle engines.

My wife wants me to go to the doctor. I feel like they will just charge me for hearing aids that cost thousands of dollars. The problem is I don't have thousands of dollars and quite frankly don't have anything that is worth thousands of dollars to hear.
Does anyone have any advice ?
