I have to say I've never gotten the tendency of people to hate on other peoples' motorcycles due to perceived small displacement. I too had similar experiences when I owned my Ninja.

My mom had a very sweet '69 Mustang with a six cylinder engine. I loved that car. Got to drive it a bunch growing up. Anywho, the worst response I ever got driving that car was one or two folks looking disappointed when I informed them it was not a V8. Not once did anyone ever say something that could be considered condescending or rude. Why didn't they do that? 'Cause it would have been condescending and rude! Duh.

Also, in aviation, same thing. Not once have I heard someone verbally abuse me or others about flying a small displacement airplane.

What is it about motorcycles that allows folks the freedom to say stupid stuff about displacement? What!?

I need a drink.
