I have those same mirrors, Komohana. I'm going to put them on when I put the bike back together (one fine day). I can already see what you mean about the mounting issues. I have an aftermarket screen on mine as well. The early 500R mirrors fit, but they sit at a different angle and it's a bit displeasing if you ask me.

The sticky convex things should be standard issue on all bikes IMO. They are priceless for keeping tabs on the traffic around you. I had them in the top outside corner and I plan to put another set on the new mirrors when they go on.
