The general idea for setting the Idle Mixture screws is to get the highest hot idle speed as possible, even if both adjustments are not set exactly the same. Syncing the carbs is a good idea as well.
After getting the highest idle speed, I personally like to go about 1/8-turn out/richer, which seems to help smooth the transition to part-throttle metering.
