It looks like some black stripes are now in the mix for the final version of the black and yellow color scheme...
I think his technique will work if you have a real steady hand with the Excacto knife. I would not do the WD-40 part. I would soak a paper towel with gasoline and lay it on the tank and place a layer of PreessNseal plastic wrap over that and let it sit for a while. The decal and it's adhesive don't do well when exposed to gasoline. The decal will wrinkle and the adhesive will dissolve. Then do the hair dryer trick. I don't advise using anything sharper than your fingernail to pick-off the decal. Then 1,000 grit wet/dry and a final polish. I don't think there is a clear coat under the decal as he said in the video.
