Unless the water is not making it into the combustion chamber, Maybe turning into steam before. Or it could be steam mixing with the oil after it leaves the chamber and not making it to the exhaust. Steam would have to be heavier than air so I doubt it would flow. Also depends on just how much water was splashing into those lines.

How old is the bike? Is it second hand? If it is it might have had a problem in the past which has been fixed but the build up of crap was not cleaned off.
