Instead of making the cooling system less effective to raise temperature, it uses a partial bypass and higher temperature thermostat to get the engine up to temp quicker and hold it there more uniformly than the factory system. It works year round.

Installed a TB3 05/07/17. By the way, anyone who is running their Ninja without one is a God damned goof. It's the best investment you can make for your bike. It should have been installed at the factory.
