This is an odd post, as it features
MO’s former editor Troy Siahaan, who has since moved on to other pursuits within the moto industry. That leaves me, the only other
MOron who has ridden the newest
Gixxer, as the author of this lead-in to Troy’s final video bike review on these pages.
I got the sweet opportunity to
ride the new GSX-R1000R at Australia’s Phillip Island circuit a few weeks before Troy jetted off to Texas and the awesome Circuit of the Americas track to
ride the GSX-R1000. Though missing the extra R of the bike I rode in Oz, the R1000 is blessed with identical engine tuning and chassis as its pricier 1000R brother.
Now it’s time to give the new Gixxer a proper test on a public road. We’re saddling up a new GSX-R1000 for a road trip with six of its competitors to determine which street-legal superbike is the preferred ride on the streets and in the canyons. Then we’ll ring its neck at Auto Club Speedway to find out if the new Gixxer works as well on a California track as it did in Texas and Australia.
Meantime, please take a look below at Troy’s farewell to
MO via
Suzuki’s latest GSX-R1000.
