From just reading about these engines' properties: retarding the intake cam, putting an intake cam on the exh side and some neat exhaust manifold (without cat) might be a stage 1 solution. I understand that the block base gasket can be left out to get tighter squish/tiny bit more compression? If one were to use a sealing compound that probably equals a 0,01-0,05mm gasket.
