The 250 is still a great bike. If I didn't get a good deal on the zx6r, I would have been more than happy to hang on to the 250 for a while longer.
Since I did a lot of riding on roads were the speed limit was 60+ mph, I too found myself looking for a higher gear every now and then. Especially when I first started riding it. But you do get used to it.
