I soaked the slides with the old diaphrams in hot water first to loosen them up, and just stretched them off. Then I soaked the new ones in warm water for a few minutes and very gently stretched them on. After getting them on and in the slot, I kept warming them up in the warm water and made sure they were seated completely in the slide. Voila, no more problems and SIGNIFIGANTLY cheaper than buying new slides
