I once bedded in a set of pads on the sighting lap of a race.

I won't be doing that again.... And yes, you are spot on about arriving at a corner without proper braking being felt.

When at the track and have new pads, I ask to ride in N for a session or 2 as needed to bed them in, AFTER... a few laps around the paddock, they normally don't have a problem.
