Ah cool, you tried an electric one. I think smart cars are well suited to being turned into all-electrics. I'm looking forward to seeing more electric cars about. I'm not really looking forward to the driver-less cars thing which seems to be happening in tandem with the switch to electric.
I don't think most petrol (AKA gas) smart cars have turbos. They started putting bigger engines in them at some point so it wasn't necessary for them to include one. The engine is so tiny in mine that it actually *needs* a turbo. Without it, it wouldn't really be safe for use on high speed roads.
