Some components are shared between pre-gen & new-gen, but there's some that's different.
Also it's not just swapping parts, but also inspecting existing passageways. The seat where plunger sits is important for sealing. Every rebuild I've done has required that area to be cleaned along with resurfacing to remove deposits and pits.
