BikeBolts.com - Buyer Beware

I've had mismatched fairing bolts ever since I bought my bike (the joys of purchasing used) and I was hoping to clean up the look a bit with a Complete Fairing Fastener Kit from BikeBolts. Their website indicates that the kit includes fasteners for the Front Fender, Windscreen, Main Fairing, and Tail Section.

When I initially purchased the kit I opted for the Gloss Black finish on my bolts. Upon receiving the kit, a disclaimer was included that said I will have to use Standard size allen keys instead of metric because the powder coating adds a few mils on the bolt heads. Kind of annoying but not a big deal. I probably should have figured that anyway, but it happened to slip my mind when I was buying them. I wish they would have that disclaimer on the website, not after I already bought the things.

First major problem:
The bolts they include for the side fairings are 20mm long. That is far too short for this application. Out of the two, I could only get one bolt to grab anything and even then it was only hanging on by a thread or two. Not exactly confidence inspiring and would probably rattle out after a day of riding.

Next major problem:
The fasteners they send for the windscreen are not factory replacements. Although they sell well nuts in their Windscreen Fastener Kits, they do not include them in this kit. Instead, they give you a bolt, washer, nut combo. I have no idea why they didn't just put some well nuts in there. Despite being a bit annoying, I could live with this...except for the fact that they didn't include the bolts for the windscreen. All I got in my kit were the nuts and washers. The bolts weren't even listed on the Parts List they included with the package.

I sent BikeBolts two emails explaining these issues the day I received the package and a week later, they have yet to respond. If I receive an email from them resolving the issue, I will update this thread. Until then, I simply DO NOT recommend purchasing from this company. As far as I'm concerned, that was $30 down the drain. While I can still salvage the some of the main fairing bolts from the kit, I'll have to purchase the rest elsewhere, meaning they will not match...which was the entire purpose of buying the kit in the first place.
