[visordown.com] - Simon Andrews critical after NW200 crash

SIMON Andrews is in a critical condition following a crash at the North West 200 on Saturday during the Superstock race.

The 29-year-old came off near Metropole corner in Portrush on the fourth lap with the bike catching fire shortly after. The session was immediately red flagged and Andrews was air lifted to hospital.

Bikesportnews have reported that team boss Lee Hardy has told them there were positive signs during the night as Andrews is now off life support and breathing for himself, but still in intensive care at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Despite no other official statement being released as of yet it is reported that his family are by his bed side.
