Quick Question About Snorkel Removal

Hi everyone. I have a couple of quick questions about remove the snorkel.

Last week my local shop installed my Area P exhaust and rejetted the carborators with a DynoJet kit.

The new exhaust sounds terrific and I've noticed more power and pick-up, especially at the mid-range. So far so good.

That being said, they did not remove the snorkel, depsite the instructions on the kit saying it should be done.

Should I take the bike back and ask them to remove the snorkel? Are they any disadvantages to keeping it the snorkel in place? What are the advantages of removing the snorkel?

Also I noticed on occassion there's a slight pop-pop-pop-pop sound when I sometimes downshift. It's not loud and sounds quite appealing! Is this normal?

Thank you!
