[visordown.com] - Intermot 2014 Street Triple RX revealed

TRIUMPH’S Street Triple has got to go down as one of the Hinckley firm’s biggest success stories since John Bloor re-launched the brand – so you can’t really blame them for milking it.

And while there’s a whiff of money-for-old-rope about the new ‘RX’ special edition version – basically a Street Triple R with a fee Daytona 675 bits and some other accessories thrown at it – the result is still an appealing prospect.

What’s new? Most obvious is the Daytona 675 rear subframe and tail bodywork, which means that buyers who take pillions might prefer to stick with the normal Street Triple instead. On top of that, there’s a quickshifter as standard, along with a bellypan and front cowl. The red and silver paintwork is also unique to the RX.

The specs are otherwise identical to the ‘R’ model, with 106PS and 68Nm of torque from the 675cc triple, Nissin radial calipers at the front and fully-adjustable KYB suspension at both ends.

Prices will be announced nearer the bike’s January 2015 on-sale date.
