No doubt Mikuni made a great product. But long term owner neglect is contemptible ....destructive to even the best carpotata's.
Not groundbreaking info....periodic maintenance and replacement of ALL consumables is mandatory to sustaining a long, reliable service life.

I'm in complete agreement. You should have seen the condition of these 1952 and 1960 outboard motor carbs. One, when I removed the float bowl, I thought it had to be replaced. I used a Badger abrasive airbrush to clean the bowl out. It works fine now. I think, based upon the condition of the inside of the gas tank and the float bowl on the carb they must have run Draino in this little bitch. I put about 750 BBs in the gas tank and some methel ethel keytone in the tank and shook the poop out of it. I also replaced the in-tank fuel filter with a VW tank filter.
No more!
