After acquiring the super cool Scorpion Savannah pants I feel wayyyy better:
The ICON Hella boots failed me when I was at a red light and almost dropped the bike when my foot slipped on some oily stain on the pavement. Will be replacing the tennis shoes soon with some Sidi boots... or Alpinestars... still undecided there.
