@akima very well. Ill take some pictures when I get home.

I have an gsxr shock on my bike and I had to cut a portion of the OEM battery box/mud guard off the bottom to make the gsxr shock fit so there is even less protection down there than normal on my bike and my rear shock stays nice and clean.

It has been dirty here as of late as well so it is pretty obvious that the hugger keeps that area of the bike clean. As far as the undertail area... not as much but the hugger doesn't extend that far out over top of the tire so that is expected or at least not a surprise.
