drinking a gallon of water per day is about 200% of what is healthy and is doing real damage to your kidnees.
also, water does not prevent kidnee stones. kidnee stones are caused by an assortment of disorders. i get kidnee stones all the time. it has nothing to do with my water intake.

The typical rule for proper hydration is body weight *.75= ounces to drink in an inactive day. But my work requires me to walk a lot. Then I drink another 32 ounces when working out. Combined with my vitamins and other foods, I would say I am not hurting my body. I weigh ~186. Hat is about 140oz minimum.
