Yeah, I feel weird without my gear. I'll go the block to the gas station near the house without my gloves, since putting in the credit card and pumping gas is significantly easier without them, but damn if it doesn't feel just strange and I'm glad to finish and put my gloves on.
Even in Montana, where helmets were optional, we always wore them. Maybe people thought we were silly, but whatever. I don't care. You feel safer in leathers? Good for you. Wear it.
