I have never been out there, might need to check it out next season. That rocky up hill looked fun.

The front brake isn't so bad but you definitely have to go easy on it especially in the fall and spring time here, definitely slick.

Hard to tell on the log hop if you are preloading the suspension but doesn't really look like it. Work on bouncing hard on the bike just before to help get front up a bit to meet the log and the hop with the bike over.

I was always surprised how stiff the rear shock felt on our klx125 especially with me on it but the front was super soft, not sure if the drz is similar or not?

Does your buddy let you ride his Beta? You guys should come out this way for a ride so i can get a test ride
